Home Based Business Success: Stop Throwing Your Money Away On Leads!

If you’ve been involved in a home based business for any significant length of time, chances are you’ve spent money buying leads. With all the tools available to a home business owner today, there is absolutely no reason to spend money on lead lists ever again! It’s just simply a waste of money and here is why.

If you could have 1000 prospects who might be interested in your business or 5 prospects who definitely were interested in your business, which would be more valuable to you? If you said the 1000 prospects, you’d be dead wrong!

When looking for people to join your home based business, the people who are “ready to buy” are always better than the ones who are “just looking”. When you call a long list of leads, you can be sure that almost all of them are just looking. Sure maybe some of them are serious about it but most of them are probably just kicking tires. That means you have to go through a lot of people just to find the few that are interested.

So what’s the solution? Well, instead of contacting a ton of people who might be interested, why not just get the people who are interested to contact you? That means you’re only spending your time talking to people who are already interested in working with you.

Besides the time and money you’ll be saving, having people contact you gives you the upper hand in your home based business. You see, people’s posture is completely different when they call you vs. when you call them.

When you call a prospect, they are usually grumpy or annoyed or make you feel like you’re wasting their time. However, when they call you it’s a whole different ball game.

So how do you get people to pick up the phone and call you? Easy, with internet marketing.

The internet is a truly amazing tool that is changing the way home businesses are run all over the world. If you have yet to discover the power of the internet, then it’s time to learn!

When you market properly on the internet, you are able to find more people from all over who want what you have without actually having to talk to any of them. They find you, they get the information and then they call you when they are ready (or very close) to getting started!

People who know how to use the power of the internet will never go back to traditional forms of marketing… it’s just not worth it!

Find someone who can teach you how to marketing your business online and you’ve found the key to huge success working from home! So stop wasting time, money and energy on leads and start changing your business in 2009 with the power of internet marketing!

Are you prepared for success?

If you are a part of a good home based business and you’re working hard every week to achieve your goals, then there is no doubt that you will find success. So the question is, are you ready for success when it comes?

For some people becoming extremely successful can end up even worse than no success at all. Why do I say that? Because making more money opens the doors for you to make more mistakes. Start taking the steps now to prepare yourself for your approaching success.

* Don’t raise your cost of living completely

Many people raise their cost of living way too much once they start making money. Yes, it’s natural to want to enjoy a nicer car or house or take more vacations. But try to live under your means, not AT them and certainly not OVER them.

You see this with famous people all the time. They go from meager lives to lives of extravagance and pretty soon they are living well over what they can afford. You may think this could never happen to you, but it’s easy to do. Don’t make this mistake. Remember, you can be rich and still living paycheck to paycheck and nobody wants that.

* Save, save, save!

When you have a steady paycheck coming in, it might be hard to remember to save a little. However, it’s a must if you want to be prepared. Remember, no matter how much you’re making now, it could always change! This is not to scare you but it’s always better to have more money saved than you need than not to have enough.

Try to save at least 15% – 20% from your paycheck every month. That way if anything should happen you know you’ll be covered.

* Make smart investments, not foolish ones

Investing your money is a good idea as long as you know what you’re investing in. Don’t go into something without really checking it out first.

* Taxes

Make sure you are doing your taxes correctly and not cheating the government out of a dime! It will come back and bite you in the rear if you aren’t doing your taxes correctly with your new found income. This is the one thing you don’t want to ignore. If you don’t listen to anything else in this article, take this point to heart .

To make sure you’re ready for all the success you’re going to be having with your home based business, follow these tips and strap yourself in because your home based business is going to be the ride of a lifetime!

Can A Home Based Business Truly Be Your Profession?

When people look at a home based business, they see different things. For some people it’s a way to make a few extra dollars to help with the bills or go shopping, for some people it’s a way to make money from home while their spouse brings home the big paycheck from work and finally for others it’s a life changing thing that allows you to make the kind of money you’ve always dreamed of from home. So can a home based business really ever be your full time profession?

The answer is yes, however, the only way you’re truly going to make that life changing kind of money is if you stop seeing it as a hobby and you start building an empire!

When you join a home based business, you have something very special in your hands. You have a fully functional business that you can make whatever you want. The choice really is yours. Do you want a $12,000 a year business or do you want a $100,000 a year business?

If you want to make six figures you’re in the right industry. There is no other type of business out there that allows average people to make such huge incomes.

So how do you turn your business from a part time hobby to a full time money making machine? Well for starters, you’re going to have to change the way you look at your business. If when you look at your business, you see a small time little thing then that is what you’re going to get. When you talk to people, when you present the business in any way, you have to present it like the CEO of a fortune 500 company would present it.

Treat your business with the respect it deserves and you’ll be on the right track to making your home based business a full time profession.

The next step is setting goals. If you’re not setting goals for your business, you aren’t treating it like a business. All big companies have a plan for where they will be going at all times. Sit down at your computer or with a piece of paper and chart out your goals and what it is going to take to get there. Also, don’t leave out dates. Sure you want to make $100,000 but when? If you don’t write out your goals and when exactly you’re going to accomplish, then you are doing your business a disservice.

Your home based business can be as big or as small as you make it. Make sure you’re doing everything you can to get the most out of your home based business. Don’t just make it a hobby, make it your career for life!

Making Money From Home: One Company Or Multiple Companies?

When you’ve made the decision to work from home, you’ve made a huge stride in the right direction. However, there are a lot of other choices you’re going to have to make if you really want to make good money from home.

First of all ,you’ll want to choose a company to join and then you’ll want to find an upline sponsor that you’re comfortable with. Sometimes you find your sponsor by them being the first person from that company to contact you and other times you’ll have to “Shop” for an upline.

Finally, you’ll be faced with a decision that almost every home based business owner is faced with at one time or another. Should I join just one company or should I join several and up my chances for success.

I know that the idea of joining lots of different companies might seems like a smart investment, but it never is. It’s not like buying multiple lottery tickets and hoping one is the winner. However, unlike the lottery ,all home based businesses require work and effort to be successful.

When you join more than one company you are splitting your focus and you are actually lowering your chances of ever really being successful in any company.

Most home based business owners already have a lot going on. Family, friends, perhaps another full or part time job… the list goes on and on. So the more you add to that list, the more everything else will suffer.

Once you have chosen a company, stick with it. Give your chosen company all your focus and energy for a significant amount of time and you will see results, no doubt about it.

I have often ran across people to promote the idea of joining multiple companies and will tell you that it’s the best way to go. In every instance, those people really aren’t successful in any company. So why would you listen to them when you want to know how to be successful.

When you look at the top income earners in every single company I will promise you that not one of them is a part of any other home based business. That’s why they were able to be so successful, because they focused on one business and gave it everything they had.

Finally, the upfront cost of joining multiple companies can really hurt your bank account. Most companies cost hundreds of dollars to get started and it’s worth it because you’re going to be making all that money back. However, if you invest a lot of money and then make hardly any of it back you might be tempted to quit working from home all together.

When you join just one company your investment is much smaller and you are much more likely to succeed. It’s a no brainer really.

So do the best thing for you and your wallet. Join a home based business you can get excited about and stick with it. I promise you will see success!

Success with failure will make you a better Networker!

A lot of people believe that success is the absence of failure. That’s not true, in fact if you really want to succeed in a home based business, I’m going to tell you to embrace failure!

OK. I know it sounds crazy but it’s true. The more you fail the closer you are to success. Network marketing is nothing but a big giant numbers game and you’re going to have to talk to a lot of people to find the 3 or 4 that will change your business and your life forever.

So many people make the mistake of getting involved in a network marketing business, talking to their friends and family and then getting incredibly discouraged when they say they’re not interested. Look, not everyone is going to want what you have–Period. Instead of getting upset when people we know object to our business, we should get excited because that means we are a few people closer to finding the ones who are going to be interested.

Look at it this way, you could make the best cheeseburger in the world–the entire world! And you could walk around the street trying to give it to people. Would everyone want one? Absolutely not!

Some people don’t eat meat.
Some people don’t like cheese.
Some people just wouldn’t believe it was really the greatest cheeseburger in the world.
Some people would think if you were giving it away, it couldn’t possibly be any good.

There are about a million reasons why some people would choose not to eat that cheeseburger and not one of those reasons has anything to do with the cheeseburger. Get it?

However, the more people you talked to about your cheeseburger (or your network marketing business), the more people you’d find who were interested. Yeah, sure you’re going to have to deal with people who don’t want it but that’s fine because that just means there will be more for the people that do!

Are you starting to get my point yet? You have to fail a lot before you can win big!

We often get the idea in our heads that if our network marketing business is really so great everyone would want to be a part of it and if even one or two people say no, then it must not be that great after all. Obviously that’s just not true. Learn to embrace (and dare I say even enjoy) the failures because for every 20 people who say no chances are 1 or 2 are going to say yes and that is a victory for you and your business!

So don’t get discouraged by a few no’s. It just means you’re that much closer to a great big yes!

If you want more success in your MLM business, then stop blaming other people for your failures

If you’ve ever tried and failed in MLM–no make that anything. It’s easy to blame other people for your failures but, at the end of the day, you have to stop blaming other people and start looking at yourself to find true success in anything.

Watch daytime TV and you’ll be sure to see tons of people who blame others for their failures in life. From the girl who blames her parents to the man who blames the government and pretty much everything in between. Look, blaming other people for your failures is never, ever going to help you succeed. It’s just an excuse and excuses are a dime a dozen.

Until you take ownership of your business and your life you are never going to find the success you’re looking for. If you try to lose 20 lbs and you fail you could easily blame your friends for taking you out to eat or the guy at the McDonald’s drive thru but let’s just be honest. The problem really lies with you and you alone. After all, who put those things in your mouth? You of course!

Success is all about mindset. If you really want to be successful, then you have to have a positive mindset and blaming others for the things you’ve done wrong in the past can never be a part of a positive mindset.

The best way to deal with your past failures is to acknowledge them, try and learn from them and then move on. Don’t dwell on them forever just learn from them and let them go.

If you don’t let go of the past, you are doomed to repeat it. That’s a popular little quote but it’s really very true. Your past only has significance if you give it significance. So don’t do it!

Now that we’ve established that blaming other people isn’t a recipe for success, let’s talk about what is going to give you success.

-Set goals
-Hold yourself accountable
-Reward yourself along the way
-Never let yourself give up

Of course there is more, but these are just a few things that can really help to keep your MLM business on the right track.

Finally, if you’ve blamed anyone in the past for your failures, then it is often helpful to forgive them. The doesn’t mean you have to call them up or write a huge apology letter but forgive them in your heart and move on.

Your failures in life and business are only as important as you make them. Forget about the past and get ready for a brighter future!

Network Marketing: Simple Concept, But Not Easily Done Without WORK!

I don’t know how it got started or why so many people believe it, but there is a dirty little rumor that has been going around for a long time in the world of network marketing.

Have you believed it?

Here it is…. Making money from home is easy.

Why in the world would we ever believe that making money from home is going to be a piece of cake? Think about it, is anything that’s truly wonderful ever easy to attain?

Want a great marriage? It’s gonna take work!

Want a hot body? It’s gonna take work!

Want to be a great athlete? It’s gonna take work!

The same is true for network marketing. It blows my mind that anyone would think it’s possible to make 5, 6 or even 7 figures from home without work and lots of it.

That being said, is success working from home possible? Of course! But it is going to take work.

It’s funny how we are willing to work hard, I mean really hard for success in a regular J.O.B. but we won’t do the same for our own network marketing business. I remember times when I would work harder than almost anyone else in my department just hoping that my boss would take notice and promote me (they never did by the way). I would come in weekends, work overtime and still never really get ahead.

However, when it came to my home based business I seemed to be under the impression that working just a little bit would get me huge results. Why is that?!

If you’re still trying to figure out if a network marketing business is right for you, let me be perhaps one of the first people to be honest with you–It’s gonna take work to succeed.

If you’re OK with the idea of working hard for your goals, then you are in the right place. There is nothing like a home based business to allow you to live an amazing life and if you’re willing to work hard for it… it will pay off big time!

Online marketing pitfalls: Avoiding these time wasters at all costs!

If you’re a fan of Internet Marketing congratulations, there truly is nothing like the internet to help you grow your home based business business and reach your goals even faster.

However, if you’re going to spend several hours a day on internet marketing, you’ll want to look out for these time wasters so that you’re getting the most of your time online.

Time Waster: Browsing videos

I love video marketing and I highly, highly recommend it for anyone who is involved in a home based business. However, try not to get sucked into watching videos online instead of actually publishing your own. I’m sure that every single online marketer has been guilty of this at least once or twice. You’re on YouTube or Revver or any other free video site and you see one video that peaks your interest. Then another video pops up and you watch that one, then another and then another.

I know watching videos is fun but it’s not going to help your home business so get in, upload and edit your videos and get out.

Time Waster: Chatting on forums

Marketing on forums is another great way to get people interested in your business or product. Just don’t spend all day talking on forums when you could be doing other forms of marketing. Trust me, it’s easy to let time get out of your hands when on a forum. Try setting a timer or an alarm for Twenty or Thirty minutes; only allowing yourself that much time per day to market on forums. This will stop you from chatting on forums all day and allow you to get more done.

Time Waster: Spending too much time on a blog

Look, you’re not writing for the New York Times so don’t spend forever trying to come up with the perfect blog post. Just keep it simple and never spend more than 10 – 15 minutes a day updating your blog– It doesn’t have to be perfect!

Time Waster: Organizing

It’s good to be organized, but let’s be honest- organizing your home office or your desktop on your computer can hardly be called internet marketing. Try getting all that out of the way beforehand and spend your time marketing doing just that- marketing. A prospect doesn’t care if your file cabinet is neat and tidy.

Stay away from these easy to avoid time wasters and you’ll be getting the most out of your marketing time and best of all success will be right around the corner!

MLM: Should I attend local meetings?

No matter what multi-level marketing company you’re part of, chances are there is some sort of local meeting system set up to help you succeed. However, with the introduction of the internet and online marketing, fewer and fewer people are willing to get dressed up and go to their local meetings every week. So the question is, should you?

In the old days of MLM, everyone went to local meetings, well at least everyone who was successful. However, today that’s just not so. Internet marketers are popping up in almost every company and these master marketers often shy away from the traditional meeting system and opt for conference calls or webinars.

I believe the question of whether to go to your local meetings or not is a personal thing and it really comes down to how you plan on marketing your business.

If you are the type of person who prefers to marketing locally and in the 3D realm (i.e. passing out flyers or using the 3-foot rule) meetings might be very beneficial for you. The type of people who prefer these type of methods are usually very outgoing people, the type of people who could sell ice to an Eskimo.

However, if you prefer to marketing online through social networking sites, articles, blogs, videos or pod casts, then local meetings might now be the best option for you. After all, you could be dealing with people from all over the country or the world, in some cases.

If you are an internet marketer but you still enjoy going to meetings for motivation or just to talk to your peers, then by all means do it! However, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t be successful if you don’t plug into a meeting system. It’s just not for everyone.

The final thing to ask yourself when deciding if you should go to your local meetings or not is, “How good are my meetings”. For many people who are new to a multi-level marketing business, sending their prospects to a great meeting can be really helpful. This is because they don’t have to say anything, they just let the meeting do the selling for them. However, if your meetings system isn’t strong, it can sometimes do more harm than good. So really think about it before you send a valued prospect there because you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

The choice of going to meetings or not is a personal one. I hope that you will do what is best for you and your MLM business.

How long does success take in a home based business?

If you’re thinking about joining a home based business, you’re probably wondering a couple of things. Which business is right for me and how long will it take for me to see success in it?

The first thing you’ll need to figure out when asking yourself the second question is: What is Success to me?

For many people making an extra $500 – $2000 a month would make all the difference in the world. For others, success means $150,000 – $300,000 to match the income of the job they’ve lost or fear they may lose. Whatever the number is for you and your family, you’ll need to figure it out before you can get a good idea of how long it will take you to attain it.

Once you know your magic number, it’s really up to how strong your company (or future company’s) compensation plan is and how hard you are willing to work.

There are all kinds of different compensation plans out there in the home based business arena. Some are designed to help people make a lot of money fast while others are more tailored to letting people build steady income more slowly. If you have yet to join a home based business, you should choose the one that’s best for you.

The best compensation plans are the ones that allow you to build a strong and steady income while creating some good cash flow with the help of bonuses and incentive money.

The next thing you’ll want to think about is what you’ll be doing to accomplish your goal. There are ways to work smarter and now harder. Marketing online is a great way to maximize your time and energy because what happens on the internet stays on the internet. What you do now can help grow your business for months and years to come!

If you know how to properly market on the internet, you can see success much, much faster than the average home business owner.

So to sum it all up, you’ll need to set a goal and determine what the word success really means to you. You’ll also need to find ways to get the most out of your marketing time. Finally, the thing that can never be replaced when trying to build a home based business, you’re going to need to work hard and believe in yourself.

Success in a home based business is completely attainable. Achieve it this year with some hard work and a little preparation.

Marketing your business: Avoid Puking on your Prospect!

In the movie “Mean Girls” starring Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams the main character Cady talks about something called “word vomit”. That’s when you start saying things that you really don’t need to be saying but you can’t help it.

So what on earth does that have to do with your home based business? Well I believe that when almost all new home based business owners are talking to people about their business, they have a severe case of “word vomit”.

It’s really not your fault, you actually think you’re doing the right thing. After all, if someone wants to know about your home based business you should give them as much information as possible right? Wrong.

When talking to someone about your home based business opportunity, less is always, always, always more. This is not to say that you should keep important information a secret or act like you’re ashamed of your business. Does a prospect need to know the type of business you’re in? Yes. Do they need to know what they’ll be doing if they become involved? Yes. Do they need to know how much money they make on their 3rd level? NO!

I know that it’s super easy to get excited about your new business but don’t say too much and risk overwhelming a prospect.

Try to answer only the questions that you are asked in an honest and professional way without giving people too many details that they don’t need.

This is especially true when it comes to internet marketing. I can’t tell you how many times I see people advertising their home based business and giving way too many details. Think about the way big fortune 500 companies advertise. They talk about their product, service, store whatever and then stop. They don’t tell you the starting salary for their employees, the directions to get to their nearest location and the name of the college their CEO when to school. It’s just too much information!

Are you starting to see what I’m saying? Less really is more when it comes to your home based business! So the next time you’re talking to someone about your business remember to:

- Answer the questions they ask you honestly and then stop
- Don’t get bogged down in the little details
- Don’t assume prospects want to know something wait for them to ask

Follow these tips and avoid the “word vomit” that can kill your business.

Financially Dependent or Financially Independent? Choose Carefully!!

It is a sad but true fact that by the time people reach their “golden years” people are either dead, dead broke or financially independent.

Now, I would hope that you wouldn’t want to be dead. I’ve yet to run across someone who thinks this is the best option.

So it really just comes down to two big choices: dead broke or financially independent.

A few decades ago, you could work hard all your life and at the end of it all, retire with a nice amount of money to show for your years and years of effort. Sadly, for most people, this is no longer the case.

If you don’t believe me, take a look around at how many people in their 50’s 60’s and even 70’s are still working to this day. Some of them have retired and realized they don’t have enough money to stay retired. Some of them haven’t been able to afford to retire at all!

I don’t know about you but I do not plan on working well into my golden years. I want to retire and more than that, I want to retire and actually have the money to live the way I want to live.

If that sounds like what you want, you’ll probably want to be one of the few people in America today who are financially independent. So how do you get that way? For me, it’s with the help of a home based business opportunity.

Residual income is the thing that will allow you to work hard for a few years and be able to retire and retire in a big way. That’s because residual income is income that lasts virtually forever!

You can’t get residual income on a job. It’s a concept a lot of people can’t even wrap their head around. However, once you do, you’ll discover its power and you’ll never have to worry about your financial future again!

So there are your options: dead, dead broke or financially free! Freedom with the help of a home based business is real, don’t wait until you’re ready to retire to discover its power. Start a home based business right now!

Ten ways to ruin your MLM business!

Have you ever dreamed of failing miserably in multi-level marketing? Well, you’re in luck! Here are 10 simple ways to fail and fail big time in your home based business.

#1. Quit too soon

If you’re really serious about failing in MLM, the best thing to do is to try it for a week or two and then just give up. You’d be shocked at how many people join a business and get all excited only to get down and give up after hardly any time at all. If you’re going to start a home based business, you have to give it some time. There is no such thing as a real way to get rich quick.

#2. Listen to negative people

When you join a home based business, there are bound to be a lot of negative people telling you that you are going to fail. Ignore them and you’ll have a ton of success. Listen to them and they’ll probably be right.

#3. Don’t follow the system

Almost all home based businesses have a system for success. If you want to fail, just don’t follow the system. Do your own thing, re-invent the wheel. After all, you know more than all the people making 5 or 6 figures, right? Don’t follow the system and you’ll be sure to fail!

#4. Be a secret agent

Whatever you do if you want to fail in MLM, just don’t tell anyone about it! Keep it a secret. In fact, you should probably be really embarrassed of your home based business. Telling your friends and family might mean that some of them could want to sign up and you don’t want the hassle of that… just keep it a secret.

#5. Be cocky

You know better than the people who brought you into your home based business opportunity, right? As a matter of fact, you probably know more than almost anyone else in the company. Humility is for the weak. Be cocky and your failure is guaranteed!

#6. Be bitter about other people’s success

What is the use in being happy when other people around you find success? Everyone knows you have to be bitter and jealous of other people’s accomplishments, right? Don’t waste your time being happy and supportive of people.

#7. Don’t grow

You are fine just the way you are. Reading books or working on yourself, in any way, is just plain silly. Don’t grow as a person and definitely don’t add to your skill set. Stay just as you are and don’t grow… a perfect way to fail.

#8. Ignore your team

You don’t have time to help other people, after all! You’re too busy worrying about yourself. Bring people into the business and then just ignore them.

#9. Have zero confidence

Whatever you do… don’t believe in yourself!

#10. Just don’t get started

Hands down the best way to fail in MLM is to never get started at all. If you’re nervous you might succeed and want to be sure to avoid it DO NOT, under any circumstances, join a business. I mean you might just succeed by mistake!

Network Marketing: Your First Year as a Business Owner in Network Marketing?

If you’re thinking about joining a home based business, one of the things you might be wondering is: “How much money can I make my first year in business?”

While there isn’t really a cut and dry answer to that question, there are a few things you can ask yourself to determine how much you might make your first year as a home based business owner.

The first question is, “How much time do you have to commit to your business?” Some people have 20 or 30 hours a week to devote to their home based business while others have just 6 or 7 hours. Obviously, the more time you commit to working your home based business, the faster it will grow.

Does that mean that you can’t be successful if you don’t have that much time? No, lots and lots of successful people work full time jobs at first and a lot of them are even wives and mothers on top of their work load.

You can be successful working from home no matter how much time you have per week. However, it is going to take longer in almost all cases.

If you want to make $100,000 your first year, you’re going to need to spend more than an hour a day working your home business.

The next question you need to ask yourself is, “How much am I willing to follow what others are doing?”

So many people get started in a home based business and want to do it “their way”. They don’t want to listen to anyone and they certainly don’t want to be told what to do and what not to do.

That is going to slow down your money making time by a lot. The most successful people I’ve ever met have been people who know how to take direction and do what other successful people have done.

The final thing you will want to ask yourself is, “What does your compensation plan look like?”

There are all different types of comp plans in network marketing. Some are designed to help you make a lot of money right away and some are designed for more consistent gradual growth. Both can be great depending on what you want to accomplish.
